CORRESPONDENCE COURSES leading to the B.I.G. Diploma examinations. Each course consists of 20 lessons. In writing these courses I have drawn upon my experience as a graduate member of B.I.G., many years of working in education and a life-long interest in psychology.
Year One focuses on developing accurate assessments of writing movements and their interpretation. Emphasis is placed on a systematic way of working to ensure that an accurate report is produced.
Year Two covers the personality theories of the psychologists included in the B.I.G. examination syllabus (Freud, Jung, Adler, Fromm and Maslow).
Year Three focuses on the application of graphology to those areas that are of significance to professional graphologists. The lessons in the course are arranged to give a progression, focusing initially on individual human development, interpersonal skills and vocational guidance, then moving on to relationships and compatibility and, finally, aspects related to business and human resources management.

Founder member of B.I.G., serving voluntarily for ten years, first as Secretary, then as Education Officer and finally as Chairman of the Examination Board. Developed the first correspondence course in graphology in 1989, so that students can study for the B.I.G. diploma at home and at their own pace. This course has helped many students to further their knowledge of handwriting analysis to the high standard required to earn a B.I.G. diploma.
CORRESPONDENCE COURSE in 3 parts, each of 20 lessons, follows the 3 year B.I.G. diploma syllabus -
Part 1 covers: recognition of basic handwriting movements with their interpretation, through to assessment of speed and form standard, and dominant, secondary and miscellaneous movements. Based on the aforementioned, advice is given on how to put together a 600 word report.
Part 2 covers basic psychology and how it applies to handwriting. The following psychological theories are used - Maslow, Jung, Adler, Freud and Fromm.
Part 3 covers the use of graphology in various areas:-
1) Personnel selection
2) Partnerships and human relationships
3) Vocational appraisal
4) Human development
WORKSHOP for students taking Parts 1, 2 and 3 of the B.I.G. exam - dates to be arranged.
The workshops are designed to:-
1) go through the syllabus of the relevant part
2) give the students an opportunity to participate in group work
3) help the students recognise the amount of knowledge they have aquired
4) speed up the analysing process

Margaret Webb has been a practicing graphologist since 1993. She was Education Officer for B.I.G. for six years and is a fully qualified teacher in adult education. This correspondence course is specifically designed to ensure that students not only follow the course conscientiously, but also aimed at ensuring they gain plenty of hands-on experience through working on their own collection of writing.
CORRESPONDENCE COURSES for the B.I.G. examinations:-
Part 1 - first impressions of a handwriting and awareness of basic handwriting movements. Assessment of speed, regularity and form standard of writing. Recognition of the main movements of the writing, together with the secondary and minor movements. Assembling this information for report writing of 600-800 words.
Part 2 - selective psychological theories of Jung, Freud, Adler, Maslow and Fromm, and how they relate specifically to handwriting.
Part 3 - candidates taking the B.I.G. year 3 exams will be required to be fully conversant with the following four areas of specialisation: personnel management, partnerships/human relationships, vocational appraisal and human development (childhood and adolescence).
Students from overseas are welcome - assignments can be submitted by fax or email attachments.
