About Reed Hayes

Reed operates a handwriting and document examination business in Honolulu, Hawaii. He began his study of handwriting 40 years ago, has written extensively about graphology and has worked internationally as a handwriting expert.

Reed holds a master's certificate from the International Graphoanalysis Society (IGAS). He is a graduate of the Andrew Bradley Training Course in Forensic Document Examination (beginning and advanced) and holds certification from the National Association of Document Examiners and the American Institute of Applied Science. For many years he has worked closely with Graphoanalyst Kim Iannetta and a team of psychologists and statisticians at Hawaii State Hospital on a research project pertaining to identification of potential dangerousness via handwriting. He is a member of the American Handwriting Analysis Foundation and the National Association of Document Examiners and is president of the Hawaii Chapter IGAS.

Reed utilizes his handwriting analysis skills in questioned handwriting and document examination as well as personnel selection, jury screening and litigation support. He is the author of several books, including Written in Crime, Between the Lines, Guide to Children's Handwriting and Forensic Handwriting Examination: A Definitive Guide. He is co-author (with Kim Iannetta) of Danger Between the Lines, a reference manual for the evaluation of potentially violent behavior.
