ELAINE QUIGLEY BA Hons., MBIG (Dip) is a psychologist and past Chairman of the British Institute of Graphologists, offering personal guidance on inter-relationships and business advice for staff selection, counselling, public speaking and teaching. The service is tailored to the individual needs of those coming to her for advice and a background in dealing with individual clients and national companies, allows flexibilty and experience to give them the best support in decision making and to understand what makes people who and what they are. |
| Members of the British Institute of Graphologists adhere to a strict Code of Ethics with an assurance to clients of complete confidentiality. |
| Various psychological theories are brought into play to clarify for people the reasons behind their own and other people's behaviour. So often it is difficult to understand why others behave in a way that seems unreasonable. By understanding where they get their ideas and recognising the rationality for them, relationships can be improved. |
| Team building is a valuable service, providing understanding of how to gather the ideal personalities together to make them interactive and productive at the highest level. This is generally done first through the analysis of the handwriting, to enable the trained graphologist to locate the slot into which each person best fits. |
|
| In counselling, many people have found it beneficial to send handwriting samples for analysis, often with special questions to be asked and then to receive a report. They then are given the opportunity for further discussion by telephone. Of course a one-to-one session is also available for those who are near enough to travel to a meeting. |
|
If you have ever wondered whether someone is right for you, you can see that the service is particularly useful where the question of partnerships, both personal and professional is important. The reality of the needs of each person is identified and the best way for communication explained. If people really understand those with whom they share their time, then they have the option to maximise the success of their relationship. |
| On a lighter level, Graphology can be used as an entertainment feature at either a large function or an intimate group. It is very popular and each booking is tailored specifically to the needs of the audience and the occasion. Even though there is always a respect for the sensitivities of those taking part, the final emphasis is on people enjoying their participation, having fun and gaining the insight to make the most of themselves and their social activities |
| The value of Graphology is that it is 'Brainwriting' and thus comes directly from the writer in a unique way, no matter how they have been taught. The graphologist understands the styles of the different countries and languages and makes allowances for this, but the final result comes from so much more than just the content of the text, which is largely irrelevant. Graphology is both a science and an art and has at least 300 different variants in its investigative package. The skill of interpretation is in the psychological art of understanding how the different combinations can allow the writer to 'step off the page'. |
|
| The aim is always to be positive and to enable those who have their writing analysed to gain an understanding to live their lives to the highest level of satisfaction, whether personal or professional. In a business sense, it enables working relationships to be forged to enhance the quality of the group or team performance. |
