Two's Company?

INVESTIGATING

Dominant personality traits of non identical male twins, aged 19 yrs.
Twin A is left handed. Twin B right handed.
I shall be looking into the way their personalities affect those around them and how this in turn has had an effect their expectations.

TWIN A

In my opinion, what is memorable about Twin A's handwriting is its illegibility in relationship to actual size of the letters. Look at the signature which is really large, I can pick out the first letter M but the rest of it could be any letter. Size, gives us information in the way Twin A enjoys projecting himself; so here, image is important to his self esteem. Add this to his illegibility, will tell us that only his perspective of the world is important.

He is left handed and he does not write smoothly, so I do not give emphasis to the left slanted writing as a dominant feature but take general interpretation into careful consideration. I look to spacing of letters and the irregular smaller letters such as the vowels. I also note sharp points in the writing, inspecting the signature again at the top of the last letter. The gaps are quite wide between words but there is a real variety of size and spacing between letters. There is plenty of initial involvement with others, also brashness which means he can be tactless. He ignores other people's feelings and rather than apologise wonders why there is so much fuss.

He is energised by variety and fun but it's not always easy for him, look at the uncertain letter formations. He enjoys talking but cannot commit himself to anything with confidence. This is an early indication of inner fear, so that when he cannot deal with a situation rather than show embarrassment or attempt to face up to responsibilities, he intentionally uses avoidance tactics.

These avoidance tactics can take the form of bending truths to suit himself. This is backed up by letters that show a mixture of various non copy book formations, which always lead to misinterpretation for the reader; also note additional hesitations and omissions of a number of the other letters. This young man may say one thing but, swaps and exaggerates stories quite deliberately, to quickly side step awkward circumstances.

He is adept at picking up innovative ideas usually press-ganged from others, but he will not spend long enough to carry on the momentum of channelling those ideas. He is in need of guidance to hold onto greater stability, and to divert his energy into specific tasks that will offer variety without the chaos.

You may like to know the last I heard he had decided to join the marines.

TWIN B

Twin B's handwriting is notably smaller and the text considerably more legible. Interestingly, the signature is larger but indecipherable. Twin B is able to project himself when on sure ground, but is initially wary. His brother, in contrast, tends to dive into situations seemingly without taking account of the consequences.

Twin B is a lot more discerning about people, he is not as timid as you may initially think he is; note his 'i's are strong and the emphasis on letters on the ends of words such as 's', will offer him assertive qualities, when he feels he needs to be so.

Twin B is not as spontaneous as his brother, he may be more cautious but ultimately has better staying power than Twin A, and is not as likely to give up a challenge. I note contradictions in Twin B's handwriting such as his letters are joined to give him continuity yet there is also anxiety with the overwriting. His writing is also slow so he wants to get things right and will mull over and over, all thoughts and problems. This is backed up by leftward loops but again in contradiction, his letters are not all narrow and tense. He communicates on his terms; hence any first impression can be wrong, as this young man appears to be more shy than is strictly true.

Twin B has greater altruistic qualities, with word endings less sharp and fewer angles on the baseline. He desperately wants to understand a situation, to 'feel the ground' allowing him confidence to be certain of his actions and decisions. He is certainly more aware of others needs than his brother.

Nevertheless, it will not stop him being stubborn then assertive and what could be more maddening for those near to him, is his ability to hide his thoughts. Check the closed loops especially in 'a' and 'o' and the way he crosses the top of his signature, he feels it's best to shut out any hurt.

My response to the analysis was to reassure him that he could gain greater confidence and will start to feel less in the shadow of his brother's strident and somewhat melodramatic personality.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Twin B's handwriting is as distinctly different from his brother; as was his stature. He is dark haired, a slighter build than his twin brother; he had suffered acne but was not unattractive.

Twin A has fair hair with very traditional handsome features, he towers over most people in the room.

Please note that height will not affect whether a handwriting is large or small. Also finding writing awkward and indeed writing with the left hand as Twin A does, must be put into context when drawing up an analysis

CONCLUSION

These two young men not only look unalike but their attitudes and way they approach others in their lives is distinctly different. As their expectations are fundamentally dissimilar there will be combative behaviour but not real competition. They will not really understand each others motives. Ultimately, they are searching for different lifestyles and friendships.

Twin B especially will flourish without the idiosyncratic demands of his brother. Their innate differences have been magnified by each others company and encouraged by parents and friends. They both enjoy physical sports and so would find common ground here but at present do not understand true emotional closeness.
